Identification and Confirmation

At ABS we have considerable experience in conducting studies to elucidate the structures of drug metabolites, synthetic impurities from chemical syntheses and components in natural products, e.g. cannabinoids from botanical raw materials.

We utilize both LC-MS-MS using atmospheric pressure ionisation and GC-MS with electron impact ionisation to establish molecular masses and where possible assign tentative chemical structures or postulate metabolites / breakdown products. Additional confirmatory work can be arranged by ABS in conjunction with facilities offering ¹H-NMR, which will provide the additional structural information necessary to give definitive molecular assignments.

We have the ability to conduct on-line LC-MS-UV and, LC-MS-RCD (RadioChemical Detection) together with 96-well collection to produce high-resolution chromatographic fractions. These chromatographic fractions can be used to assist in the identification process or supplied back to our client to conduct further work.

We can utilise and apply methods that have been developed by our sponsors or apply our considerable experience and develop bespoke separatory systems to assist you with your objectives.
